Creating objects

Individual objects are to be added to existing types in BEX PMS.

If the correct type does not yet exist, you must first create it, or import multiple types. Read more: Creating types, Importing your types

Where to create new objects

There are several ways to create a new object. If you already have a lot of objects in your previous reservation system, you might save time by importing your objects.

  1. Go to 'Objects' in the Setup module. In the top right, click '+New' to add a new object with detailed settings, or click 'Add multiple' to quickly add multiple objects with only the minimal settings. Other settings can be added later by editing the objects or adjusting the object setup.

  2. Go to 'Types' in the Setup module. Open the type for which you want to create one or more new objects. Go to the 'Objects' tab, and click '+New' to add a new object with detailed settings, or click 'Add multiple' to quickly add multiple objects with only the minimal settings.

Settings for a new object

When creating a new object via the '+New' button, you can fill in the data below. Only the name, 'active from' date, energy label, and pet status are mandatory. These mandatory settings are also the minimal settings you must enter when you add multiple objects at once.

  • Name, ID of previous reservation system (for importing objects), door or room name, surface area, and lot number.

  • Turn on 'Blocked for new reservations except via backoffice' if you do not yet want to make this object bookable.

  • Attachment text for emails (can be used in auto emails), and energy label.

  • The 'active from' date for the setup of the object, with a specific end date or simply until a next setup becomes valid.

  • The type to which the object belongs, and whether pets are allowed.

  • Any object-specific amenities.

The 'object setup' is the combination of type, pet status, and object-specific amenities. This comes in handy if you are going to renovate a certain object, or otherwise give it an upgrade. By adding a new setup with a specific 'active from' date, you can ensure that guests who want to stay after this date get the correct information when booking.
