Getting started with costs
Costs for reservations can be mandatory costs that apply on top of the base rent, or optional add-ons that are available to your guests to get the most out of their stay.
Examples of add-ons: breakfast, bicycle rental, or cancellation insurance.
Examples of mandatory costs: a cleaning fee, tourist tax, a preference cost or a pet fee.
Creating costs
First, think about whether the cost item you want to create is an add-on or a mandatory cost.
Mandatory costs can be set to only apply when the booking matches certain criteria (e.g. a pet in the guest group, or the booking includes a certain amenity).

Price differentiation depending on channel or type
In the settings of a mandatory cost or add-on, you can determine whether the pricing should vary slightly depending on the booked type or channel of the reservation.

Preference costs and linking costs to amenities
It is possible to create a fee that only applies when a guest books a specific object rather than a type, or when a guest books a specific amenity. This is always set up as a mandatory cost.

Managing costs
After your mandatory costs and add-ons have been created, cost management may include:
Editing costs to change applicability or pricing
Merging multiple similar costs into one
Entirely deleting a cost item
Putting a cost item on a channel invoice instead of a guest invoice

Inventory management for add-ons
For add-ons that involve a limited number of items in stock, you can set up inventory management in the pricing settings. Use it to track demand or ensure that the add-on can no longer be booked after your inventory runs out.
