Cynox: Camp-Card installation & settings
Cynox is a German company that offers solutions for energy management and access control. Cynox Camp-Card allows you to create access cards for your guests, that can also be used to pay for certain guest services.
The Cynox app offers two solutions, Camp-Card for access control, and Camp-Control for energy management. If you want to know more about Camp-Control, read the corresponding article: Cynox: Camp Control installation & settings
In our App Store you can read more about what Cynox can offer you.
If you have already followed the installation steps for Cynox Camp Control energy management, you can skip to one of the 'Setting up access' headers.
How to install the app?
Go to the 'Available apps' index, and use the search bar to find the Cynox app. Click the 'Install app' button.

If you have already set up your account and hardware with Cynox, you can now complete the settings.
Complete the settings
To set up this app, you must first authorize your Cynox account, and then map your administrations and create card types and products.
Authorize Cynox
Open the Cynox app page from your 'Installed apps' overview.
Select 'Authorize Cynox' from the Commands dropdown.
Log in to Cynox to link your account to this integration.
Map administrations
Select 'Administration Mappings' from the Commands dropdown.
Click '+Mapped administration' to add a new PMS administration. Select the corresponding Cynox Campsite as set up in your Cynox account.
Cost item for credits: select the PMS cost item to be used for topping up and refunding Cynox credits.
Credit value: Enter how much money 1 credit is worth, with two decimals.
Click 'Save'.
Cynox Credits
Credits can be used to pay for Cynox-enabled services like washing machines, or arcade games. If you don’t use credits, ignore the credit-related settings.
A credit cost item is an extra that can only be selected through the back office. This extra needs to be applicable to all your types and channels.
The price settings of this cost item are not relevant, since the monetary value of a credit as well as the top-up or refund of credits are handled through the Cynox integration. Read more: Cynox: Camp-Card daily actions
Setting up access for Cynox locks on objects
Follow these instructions if you want to generate cards that provide your guests with access to the Cynox lock on their booked object, while also accessing communal spaces and passing barriers as defined in a 'privilege' that you have set up with Cynox.
After linking the administration, you’ll see it in the list of administration mappings. The number of card types, number of cards, and number of mapped objects can be clicked to manage the administration’s card types, cards, and objects.
1. Linking Cynox lock codes to PMS objects
Click the blue number for 'objects'. You’ll see a list of all objects in the administration. For each of your objects that has a Cynox lock, enter the applicable lock code.
If you do not use Cynox’s Camp-Control solution for energy management, you can ignore the socket setting for your objects. If you do, read more here: Cynox: Camp-Control installation & settings
2. Adding card types
Click the blue number for 'card types'. Use the '+Camp-Card type' button to add a card type. You can add multiple card types, as needed.
Give the card type a name
Any lock code entered here will not be used, because the lock codes of the objects take preference.
A card type should contain one or more privileges, which are the sets of general access rights as determined between you and Cynox.
For each card type, add one or more products.
3. Adding products
The product(s) of a card type determine how and when cards of this card type are generated. From the list of card types, click the blue number for 'Products' of the relevant card type. Use the '+Product' button to add a product.
Give it a name, and decide how many cards are to be generated per reservation. This can be made dependent on the number of guests in a reservation, or make it dependent on number of purchased items if you have set up an extra cost item that allows guests to add as many extra cards as they want when booking.
Starting credits: the number of credits that a card should have on it as soon as it is created.
Cynox lock code: Any lock code entered here will not be used, because the lock codes of the objects take preference.
Leave the privileges field empty to use the privileges set for the card type. Enter the card type privileges plus any additional privilege(s) to differentiate the access this product offers from other products or basic card type access.
Privileges in card products
For instance, add a privilege that controls access to VIP parking, and combine it with a filter for your most exclusive type. Or, add a privilege that controls access to the wellness area, and combine it with a filter for the extra that is used to charge for this access.
Don’t forget to also add the privileges included in the card type if you use this field. Because the product privileges overwrite the card type privileges, not adding the latter would essentially remove access to those privileges.
Filters can be used to further specify which reservations and/or guests receive a card with this product. As said before, this can be combined with additional privileges, but that is not necessary.
Add a specific fixed start and end time to deviate from the standard validity of the check-in and check-out times set in your administration settings.
4. Check the generated cards to assess the setup of your products
Go to the overview of mapped administrations, and click the blue number for 'Camp-Cards'. Click the individual camp-card ID to view more details.
Setting up access for Cynox locks on other spaces
Follow these instructions if you want to generate cards that provide your guests with access to a communal space with a Cynox lock. This is only possible if you do not use Cynox locks on the booked objects.
After linking the administration, you’ll see it in the list of administration mappings. The number of card types, number of cards, and number of mapped objects can be clicked to manage the administration’s card types, cards, and objects.
1. Adding card types
Click the blue number for 'card types'. Use the '+Camp-Card type' button to add a card type. You can add multiple card types, as needed.
Give the card type a name
Enter a lock code for the intended communal space.
A card type can contain one or more privileges, which are sets of general access rights as determined between you and Cynox. However, this is not necessary if you limit the use of this card type to only access the lock entered above.
For each card type, add one or more products.
2. Adding products

Give it a name, and decide how many cards are to be generated per reservation. This can be made dependent on the number of guests in a reservation, or make it dependent on number of purchased items if you have set up an extra cost item that correlates with the lock access.
Starting credits: the number of credits that a card should have on it as soon as it is created.
Cynox lock code: Any lock code entered here will overwrite the lock code set in the card type settings. This can be used to assign a different lock access (for instance, a private sanitary block) while keeping the same privileges set for the card type.
Leave the privileges field empty to use the privileges set for the card type. Enter the card type privileges plus any additional privilege(s) to differentiate the access this product offers from other products or basic card type access.

Click the blue ID of a card to view more details, such as language setting, any credits, the associated lock code, and which privileges are applied.
Use the blue 'Edit' button to manually change any of the details mentioned above.
These digital cards can be 'written' onto physical Camp Cards through a Cynox device, for use by your guests.
