A preference cost can charged when, during booking, a guest selects a specific amenity, which is not present in all objects of the booked type by default. For example a sauna, or a waterfront amenity.

  • It needs to be a mandatory cost.

  • Select the global cost type 'Preference cost'.

  • Select 'Applies as preference cost for amenities'.

  • Under Pricing, use the 'per stay' calculation method.

Always charge cost for specific amenities

Is is also possible to set up a cost to charge a fee whenever an object with a specific amenity is booked, regardless of whether the guest has actively selected this amenity.
This way, you can charge an additional fee when an object has a certain amenity, regardless of which type it belongs to, whether other objects of the type also have this amenity, or which price list is applicable.

You do this by linking a cost to the amenity, or amenities. Required settings for correct application:

  • It needs to be a mandatory cost.

  • Select the global cost type 'Preference cost'.

  • Select 'Link cost to specific amenity'.

  • In the field that appears, search and select the relevant amenity or multiple amenities.

  • Under Pricing, use the 'per stay' calculation method.
