How to set up cost items that apply when a guest books a specific object or a specific amenity.
Preference cost for booked object
A preference cost can be charged when a guest selects a specific object instead of a type.

Required settings for preference cost for object:
It needs to be a mandatory cost.
Select the global cost type 'Preference cost'.
Select 'Applies as preference cost for object'.
Under Pricing, use the 'per stay' calculation method.

Preference cost for booked amenity
A preference cost can charged when, during booking, a guest selects a specific amenity, which is not present in all objects of the booked type by default. For example a sauna, or a waterfront amenity.
Required settings for preference cost for amenity:
It needs to be a mandatory cost.
Select the global cost type 'Preference cost'.
Select 'Applies as preference cost for amenities'.
Under Pricing, use the 'per stay' calculation method.
Always charge cost for specific amenities
Is is also possible to set up a cost to charge a fee whenever an object with a specific amenity is booked, regardless of whether the guest has actively selected this amenity.
This way, you can charge an additional fee when an object has a certain amenity, regardless of which type it belongs to, whether other objects of the type also have this amenity, or which price list is applicable.
You do this by linking a cost to the amenity, or amenities. Required settings for correct application:
It needs to be a mandatory cost.
Select the global cost type 'Preference cost'.
Select 'Link cost to specific amenity'.
In the field that appears, search and select the relevant amenity or multiple amenities.
Under Pricing, use the 'per stay' calculation method.
