Mandatory costs in packages using a total price

The package types 'Fixed period' and 'Fixed total price' use an all-in price. This therefore also includes the mandatory cost items. For these packages, an 'Addition' checkbox appears behind each cost item, with which you can still charge certain cost items on top of the specified total price. In the invoice for the guest, these are in a separate line to the set total price of the package.

This allows you to ensure that the cost item for tourist tax or for a pet is not included in the total price.

Why is it important to add mandatory cost items?

The total price you set is the total price for the entire stay. This means that the amount of the rent component depends on the total amount of cost items.
Rent component = total price - all cost items
These are all extra costs that specifically belong to this package, and all mandatory cost items. Even if the latter have not been explicitly added to the package.

What happens if I do not add the mandatory cost items?

Because the mandatory cost items are always included in the above calculation of the rent component, this rent component turns out to be too low compared to the set total price. As a result, the guest's invoice may turn out lower than the advertised total price.

How can I add the mandatory cost items correctly?

If you add mandatory cost items, you can adjust their prices if necessary. You can lower the price, or even set it to 0. This has no consequences for the set total price, but it does for the calculation of the rent component, and the journalizing of income.

With regular prices:

Cost items: 30 euro
Rent component: 70 euro

With adjusted prices (Free cost items):

Cost items: 0 euro
Rent component: 100 euro
