Setting up the park map

Upload a map of your park, place your objects on it, and let guests choose their object when they book on your website.

Upload a map of your park and place your objects on it. Guests who book on your website can then choose the exact object they stay in. You can also use the map when you make a booking in the back office.

Before you start: the Map menu item appears under Setup when the map module is active for your administration. If you don't see it, send an e-mail to support@bookingexperts.com and ask us to activate it. You need Advanced setup rights to manage the map.

Upload the map image

  1. Go to Setup > Map.

  2. Choose your image and click Upload. Use a .png, .jpg or .jpeg file. A high-quality PNG gives the best result.

  3. Wait until the map is converted into an interactive map. This usually takes a few minutes. Click Reload the page to check.

Place objects on the map

Zoom with the + and − buttons, and drag the map to move it.

  1. Click Draw a marker, the marker button below the zoom buttons.

  2. Click the spot on the map where the object is.

  3. Choose the object from the list and click Save.

  4. Repeat for each object.

The panel next to the map shows how many objects are placed (Mapped objects) and which are not placed yet (Unprocessed objects).

Change, move or delete markers

  • Link a marker to another object: click the marker, choose another object and click Save.

  • Move markers: click the edit button in the map toolbar, drag the markers and click Save.

  • Delete markers: click the delete button in the map toolbar, click the markers and click Save. Confirm, and the page reloads. Clear All deletes all markers at once.

Show the map to guests

In the panel next to the map, turn on Enable for checkout portal. Guests can now choose an object on the map while booking on your website. This setting doesn't affect the back office.

Using the map when making a back office booking

  1. Go to Reservations > Single reservation.

  2. Set the length of stay filter to Whole period.

  3. Switch from List to Map.

  4. Click a marker to choose that object for the booking.

Good to know

  • Why is an object missing from the list when I place a marker? Each object can be on the map once. Click its existing marker to move or change it.

  • Can I replace the map image without placing all markers again? Yes, if the new image has the same file name and size. Read more: Exchanging a map image
