Allowing group bookings to be made on your website

In BEX CMS, the multi-booking setting can make it possible for your website visitors to make a group booking, i.e. make up to 5 reservations at the same time.

Allowing group bookings in your Search & Book

Go to the 'Search & book settings' under 'Search & Book'. At the top of this page, there is a checkbox 'Multi booking'. Activate this checkbox and save the settings.

A group booking made via the website can contain up to 5 objects, and the dates for those reservations have to overlap by at least 1 day.

What does this change on the website?

A shopping basket will appear to the right of the search & book button in the main menu.
The 'Book now' buttons will have changed to 'Add' buttons. A pop-up will ask the website visitor whether they want to proceed to booking, or look at additional stays while adding the current one to the shopping basket. The shopping basket can contain a maximum of 5 stays.

What changes in the booking process?

For each of the reservations in the group booking, the following can be defined:

  • guest group composition

  • additional upgrades (amenities/costs/bundles)

  • a preference booking (select object on a map)

The booker's personal data will be applied to all reservations in the booking, this aspect does not change compared to a single booking.

Note: check your current Google Tag Manager setup after this change, to make sure that all desired data is still being pushed through to your marketing channels.
