Voiding a voucher for a refund
A voucher is created in lieu of a refund, but this can be reverted if necessary. This can be done by reverting and redoing the original cancellation, or by manually adding a refund to a reservation, and redeem the voucher to the same reservation to balance the amounts.
Option 1: Revert and redo cancellation
Go to the cancelled reservation, and undo the cancellation here. The payment status will be restored, showing an amount due. Then, use the three dots to redeem the voucher with the guest's voucher code. This will act as payment.
The next step is to cancel the reservation once again, but now refunding the amount instead of creating a voucher.
Option 2: Manually add a refund
Go to the reservation of your guest, and at the payment status block, click '+Refund'. Here, be careful to enter the value amount of the voucher, and also select the correct payment method that you intend to use to pay back your guest. Once the refund is saved, repay your guest using the chosen payment method.
The next step is to redeem the guest’s voucher code for this same reservation. Use the three dots behind 'Payment status', and select 'redeem voucher'. Enter the code here.
By applying the voucher, you have now cancelled out the refund you processed.
