Edit the price factor of a channel

It is possible to differentiate the prices you send to each channel by editing a price factor in the channel settings.

Go to 'Channels' in your administration settings. Select any channel, and click 'Edit'. Among the general settings, you’ll find a price factor. This is a price factor for the price lists sent to the channel.

This factor is set to 1 by default, meaning the prices sent to this channel are exactly the same as those in the price lists you have set. However, you may want to set a higher or lower price for a particular channel than you do for your own website.

Price factor for OTA channel

Many OTA channels that you partner with, charge a commission. By editing the default channel price factor, you are able to raise the prices you charge through this channel and thus compensate for the commission you are paying. If the commission is 12%, consider changing the price factor to 1,12.
It may even be part of your strategy to ensure booking through your own website is always the cheapest option for your guests.

Note that for some channel partners, like Booking.com, Airbnb, and Expedia, you can also set a price factor in the app settings, for various rate plans. This works in the same way as described in this article, so be careful not to do both at the same time.

Price factor for owner channel

If you work with owners, you probably also have a separate channel for bookings made by acquaintances, friends, or family of the owners of an object. To stimulate bookings via this channel, you may choose to edit the price factor to structurally lower the prices a little.
A price factor of 0,9 for instance, lowers the price by 10%.
