Guest group: composition of guests staying within a reservation

When booking, the main booker will indicate how many people, including any pets, will be staying during the reservation. This can also include partial stays, i.e. guests that stay for less nights than the entire stay.

View and edit the guest group

Open the relevant reservation. In the reservation block, click the pencil icon for 'Number of guests'. This will lead you to the 'Guest group' tab of the 'Edit guests' screen.

Using the radio buttons, you can edit the pet status for this reservation.
Under 'Entire stay', the guests who will be present for the entire duration of the reservation are listed. This overview can be edited.
Below that, you can add and edit one or more partial stays. For each partial stay, enter a start and end date (within the range of the entire stay), and indicate the number of guests who will be staying for those dates only.

Partial stays will help you keep your night register accurate.
Think of a scenario in which an older couple books a larger vacation home for three weeks. Their son and two grandchildren will be visiting them for the first two weeks, while four other family members will be staying for the last weekend.
By adding two partial stays to this reservation, you will easily keep track of how many people are present at any given time.

Updating the order accordingly

Editing the guest group usually has consequences for the cost items in the order that are calculated per person per day. You have to choose between just updating the quantities of the per-day items to reflect the changes in the guest group, or recalculating the entire order. This second option will apply any price changes in cost items since the confirmation date of the booking.

The order overview will show you how the costs will change before you save the edits.

What if the guest group is changed after the guest list has been filled?

If one or more guests are removed from the guest group, and as a result, there are too many people listed in the guest list, you will see a pop-up asking you to also remove the guest details of the relevant people. If you are not sure which people are no longer included in the reservation, you can choose 'Skip for now'.

If a partial stay is added for guests who were originally included in the entire stay, you will see a pop-up asking you to move the guest details of the relevant people to the partial stay. If you are not sure which people this applies to, you can choose 'Skip for now'.
