Explanation of the various owner permissions

A list of the available owner permissions for an owner profile, and their uses.

Owner permissions that are only available after another owner permission has been activated, are grouped under their main permission.

Owner insight permissions

Availability

In their owner's portal, the owner will be able to see when their object has been booked by guests. The availability agenda will also show blocked periods, including the description of the blocked period.

Bookings

Allows an owner to view the list of reservations, which initially only shows the booking number, arrival and departure date, and group composition. More details can be shown by selecting additional permissions:

Object details

In their owner's portal, the owner will be able to view the details of their own objects. These details include the published photos, the minimum number of nights, maximum number of guests, and description.

If the owner wants to make a change in these details, they must request this by way of a reception message to the back office. The back office is then able to reply to this change request as they see fit.

Reviews

In their owner's portal, the owner will be able to see the reviews guests have made after their stay. As such, owners can see their guests’ opinions of their property.

Todos

In their owner's portal, the owner will be able to see the todos specific to their object. The overview lists the name of the todo, whether it has been completed, and when it has been completed.

Owner actions permissions

Make reservations

This allows owners to book a stay at their own object, for their own use. Owners can stay free of charge, or may be charged partially, according to the stipulations in the owner agreement.

A reservation an owner makes for themselves is not the same as a booking made via an owner’s promotional link.

Make pricing change requests

This allows owners to view the price list for their object, and to request a change in these prices. A change request is sent to the back office as a reception message.
The price change request of the owner may then be accepted and applied, or rejected.

Promote the accommodation

This provides the owner with their own, unique reservation link. This link will be available to them in the owner portal, and is meant to be shared with others. If the owner’s accommodation is booked via this link, the reservation will show that the channel for this reservation is 'Through owner'.

To reward the owner for their promotional efforts, a deviating commission rate for the 'Through owner' channel can be recorded in their commission agreement.

Additional permission

The owner permission below is only available after you have specifically asked Booking Experts to make it available. This is because it is important that it is never mistakenly included in an owner profile.

Check the bookings

This functionality requires the owner to actively manage their own object and make a decision for every incoming reservation.

The owner will receive an email every time a reservation is made on their object. Via this email, or in the owner portal, the owner has to either accept or reject the reservation. The owner will be able to see the booker data when doing so.

  • If the owner accepts, the guest will receive a confirmation of their reservation.

  • If the owner rejects, the backoffice will receive a reception message to say that the reservation has been rejected. Reception employees can then either cancel the reservation or offer this guest an alternative accommodation.
