Minimum and maximum prices for costs
When creating cost items, most price calculation methods allow you to set a minimum or maximum price to control variable cost items.
You might use a maximum to prevent a charged amount from becoming too high, or a minimum to ensure that the start-up costs are always covered.
When creating a cost item or editing its pricing settings, select 'Apply minimum or maximum price'.
From the dropdown, choose how this maximum or minimum needs to be calculated.
A second field has appeared next the default price field. Here, enter the limit amount based on the previously selected calculation.
Bedlinen has a price of €2,50 per person per night. You apply a maximum of €50 per stay. The Rivers family stays for 7 nights, with 3 people.
Calculation: 3*7*€2,50 = €52,50. This is more than the set maximum, which means the maximum amount of €50 is charged.
Cancellation insurance cost is set at 5% of the total rent amount. You add a minimum of €30 per stay.
Mrs. Montagne booked a weekend for €550.
Calculation: €550*0,05 = €27,50. Because this is less than the minimum, €30 is charged.
