Cynox: Camp-Card installation & settings

Cynox is a German company with 25 years of experience in solutions for energy management as well as access control. Cynox Camp-Card allows you to create access cards for your guests, that can also be used to pay for certain guest services. Contact Cynox via info@cynox.de for the necessary hardware and services.

The Cynox app offers both solutions, Camp-Card for access control, and Camp-Control for energy management. If you want to know more about Camp-Control, read the corresponding article: Cynox: Camp Control installation & settings

In our App Store you can read more about what Cynox can offer you.

If you have already followed the installation steps for Cynox Camp Control energy management, you can skip to 'Camp-Card types'.

How to install the app?

Once logged into your Booking Experts PMS, go to the App Store in the light green menu bar. To do this, click on the market stall icon. Type 'Cynox' in the search bar and click on the appropriate result. You are now on the app's detail page. Click the green ‘+Install’ button to install the app.

In the next screen, you can see exactly what information is read and sent by Cynox. At the bottom of this page, you will link your administrations. Check the ‘Access’ box for each administration for which you want to apply Cynox. Then click ‘Install’ to authorise the app and complete the installation.

If you have already set up your account and hardware with Cynox, you can now return to the Cynox app page to complete the settings.

Complete the settings

To set up this app, you must first authorise your Cynox account, and then map your administrations and create card types and products.

Authorise Cynox

Open the Cynox app page in your PMS App Store. Click 'Authorize Cynox' and log in to Cynox to link your account to this integration.

Map administrations

Click 'Administration Mappings' and add your administrations here. Link them to the correct Cynox Campsite as they are known in your Cynox account.

Under the heading Camp-Cards, you need to fill in two more settings.
Base costs: select which PMS cost item should be used for topping up and refunding credits. This cost item must therefore already have been created.
Credit value: Enter how much money 1 credit is worth, with two decimals.

Click 'Save'.

Camp-Card types

Click the administration that you want to set up for Camp Cards. Select the button 'Camp-Card types'. Here, you’ll define the privileges (sets of access rights as determined between you and Cynox) that a card type contains. You can create as many card types as you need.
It is possible to use different products, described below, to automatically add an additional privilege if certain requirements are met.

Products

For each card type, you can set multiple 'Products'. These determine how and when cards of this card type are generated. You can choose to generate one card per reservation, or create multiple cards per reservation depending on number of people or number of purchased items. For this last one you also need to add a cost or extra (e.g., 'sauna access') in the 'Filters' section, as the source for said number of purchased items.
At 'Card input', you can enter the number of credits that a card should have when it is issued. If you want to put additional privileges on the card, make sure to also include the privileges listed in the card type.
Filters can be used to further specify which reservations and/or guests receive a card with this product. If you don’t add a specific fixed start and end time, the card will use the check-in and check-out times set in your administration settings.

Credits can be used to pay for Cynox-enabled services like washing machines, or arcade games.

Button 'Camp-Cards'

Here, you’ll find the digital representations of the cards that are generated based on the product settings. They are linked to a reservation. Each of these lists a validity period, a language setting, any credits, and the privileges set through the card type.
These digital cards can be 'written' onto physical Camp Cards through a Cynox device, for use by your guests.

Existing digital cards can be edited, but the updated information will have to be re-written onto an actual card. In order to find out how many credits are left on a particular card, you have to read it with a card reader and view its data.
