E-CAT: installation & settings

CAT Control systems offers E-CAT as a digital access control solution for you and your guests. Allow guests to open doors using their smartphone.

In our App Store you can read more about what E-CAT can offer you.

Note that the E-CAT integration is different from the CAT integration.

How to install the app?

Once logged into your Booking Experts PMS, go to the App Store in the light green menu bar. To do this, click on the market stall icon. Type 'E-CAT' in the search bar and click on the appropriate result. You are now on the app's detail page. Click the green '+Install' button to install the app.

In the next screen, you can see exactly what information is read and sent by E-CAT. At the bottom of this page, you will link your administrations. Check the 'Access' box for each administration for which you want to apply E-CAT. Then click 'Install' to authorize the app and complete the installation.

You can now return to the E-CAT app page to complete the settings.

Complete the settings

To further set up the E-CAT app integration, you need to connect to E-CAT using your customer code, create card types, and match your digital doorlocks to locations in your BEX administration.

Connect E-CAT

Select the 'Settings' button in the Commands bar. Enter the customer code that you have received from CAT. Do this for every administration that you want to connect.

Create card types

Select the 'Card types' button in the Commands bar. Here, you use the '+Card type' button to add the card types you want. Set a descriptive name, and select the appropriate E-CAT card type from the dropdown.

Matching objects to locks

Select the 'Administration mappings' button in the Commands bar. Each administration you added is listed here. Click the administration ID to open it. You’ll see a list of your objects, which you can match to the right E-CAT door number (lock) using the dropdowns.

Further down the page is a section where you can add 'Common doors'. These are the door locks for communal areas and entrances. Choose a name, the E-CAT door number, and the cost item a guest needs to have booked to gain access to this area.

Matching objects to locks and adding access to shared areas based on booked cost items is optional. The integration will still work if you skip this step.

Edit or delete cards

Select the 'Cards' button in the Commands bar. You’ll see a list of all the automatically created cards here, including their validity, status, and the name of the guest holding the card. E-CAT cards cannot be created manually.

Click a card ID to open an individual card. From this page, you can choose to block access, or delete the card entirely. Select 'Send to guest' to re-send the card information to the guest. Clicking the 'Edit' button allows you to change the card’s validity, which locks it is valid for, and the contact information for the card holder (guest).
