Period groups

Period groups are applied to costs, packages, auto emails and discounts, to determine when these items are valid, active, and/or applicable.

Examples include a discount that should only be active during school holidays, a cost item that is only applicable in winter, or an auto email that should only be sent in the days leading up to an annual event.

New period group

Go to 'Period groups' in your Administration settings. Click 'New', and give your period group a name. Then enter one or more date ranges to be included in this period group.

You can edit an existing period group by clicking the name, and then using the 'Edit' button. Editing dates of period groups that are already used in costs, discounts, etc., will affect the validity of these costs, discounts, etc.

Using multiple period groups

For discounts and packages, you might use multiple period groups for different purposes. If you make a reservation in period group X, you will receive a discount in period group Y.

Non-consecutive dates in one period group

If, for example, you want a package to apply only on weekends, you can create a single period group that contains all weekends, but not any weekdays. You can do this for any date ranges you might want.

Once a period group is in use, you cannot delete it. Open the period group to see which costs or packages etc. are using it.
