Custom split for periodic cost
Selecting a custom invoicing period for one (or more) periodic cost items on a periodic invoice for owners is useful when there is an exception to the regular invoicing period. This may be the case when there is a change of ownership in the middle of an invoicing period, or when a part of the fee needs to be waived.
Go to the Expected periodic invoices overview.
Go to the 'Invoice per agreement' tab.
Click the 'Invoice' button for the owner/periodic costs whose invoicing you want to split.
Click the 'Custom period' button at the top right.
In the pop-up, select the periodic costs that apply (by default, it will list all costs in the expected invoice you have selected). Set the new start and end dates for the invoicing of these cost items.
Click 'Create'. The concept invoice for the custom period you just set is created.
Open the concept invoice to review it and then send it.
You’ll notice that another expected invoice is listed for the remaining period until the regular invoicing schedule is picked up again. This is the 'remaining half' of the split invoice, that is yet to be turned into a concept invoice.
Skip this remaining invoice if you do not intend to charge it to this owner.
All concept invoices that are split (have a custom invoicing period) will show the number of days charged in that invoice in the relevant invoice line.
If there is a new active agreement on an object, that new owner will have their own expected periodic invoices. Here too, you can create custom invoicing periods for the applicable periodic costs, picking it up on the date you have stopped charging the previous owner.
