Scaling prices with factors
Save effort by managing as many types as possible on a single master price list, using factors and offsets to differentiate prices. Updating the master price list will then update the prices for all connected types.
Connecting types to a price list
Open the price list in which you have, or will, set up base rates.
In the tab 'Connected types', click the 'Connect type' button.
You’ll see a list of all types that you can connect.
Search for types by name or select directly from the list, and click 'Connect type'.
Select show only types not linked to another price list to prevent accidentally connecting the wrong types. Connecting a type that is already linked to another price list will remove the first connection.
Determining the factor and/or offset
Factor: a multiplication (e.g., factor 1.2 for 20% extra on top of the base rates).
Offset: a fixed amount (e.g., + €15.00 per night for a type with hot-tub).
If needed, you can also use these to decrease the prices (e.g., factor of 0.9 for 10% off, an offset of -€20.00 per night).
Usually there is at least one standard type that can be connected without any further price manipulation. Use factor 1.0 and an offset of 0.00.
This standard type is also practical indicator of how your base rates and price rules work together to create price points for your reservations.
Use the multiplication factor to increase prices for your more luxurious types.
Use the offset to compensate for additional amenities.
Use the 'Preview prices' button to see how the base rates change with your current settings.
Updating prices
When the base rates in the master price list are updated, the prices for all connected types will also change according to the set factor and offset.
