Setting up preference costs
Preference costs can apply to either amenities or objects. Price differentiation for objects with specific amenities is possible.
The instructions below only list the settings that are important for a correct setup of preference costs.

Preference costs for amenities
Guests can select amenities during booking when multiple objects of the requested type are vacant and those objects have specific, distinguishing amenities.
Preference cost for all amenities: guests can select any available amenity, or amenities, for one flat fee
Preference cost for specific amenities: can be used in multiple ways
Create a single fee for all paid amenities, which leaves the other amenities available for free
Create tiers by dividing amenities in two or three preference costs with different pricing; e.g. "Premium", "Luxe"
Create a standalone preference cost for a single amenity; e.g. "EV Charging pole"
It is not recommended to use both a preference cost for all amenities and preference costs for specific amenities. This would result in a complex pricing structure that leads to a deteriorated customer experience in the booking portal.

Preference costs for objects
Guests can select a specific object during booking when a map has been configured and multiple objects of the requested type are vacant.
Preference cost for all objects: A fee charged when any object is selected on the map.
Preference costs for objects with specific amenities: A surcharge for objects that have a certain amenity, or amenities.
A surcharge for objects with amenity 1 and a separate surcharge for objects with amenity 2 are both applied if the selected object has both amenities.
Any costs for objects with specific amenities are applied on top of the preference cost for all objects, if both are set up.
This means the preference cost for all objects can act as a baseline, modified by the applicable amenity surcharges.
