RevControl: Installation & settings
RevControl is a Dutch revenue management system that offers comprehensive analytics, competitive rate shopping and automatically recommended rates.
In our App Store you can read more about what RevControl can offer you.
How to install the app?
Once logged into your Booking Experts PMS, go to the App Store in the light green menu bar. To do this, click on the market stall icon. Type 'RevControl' in the search bar and click on the appropriate result. You are now on the app's detail page. Click the green '+Install' button to install the app.
In the next screen, you can see exactly what information is read and sent by RevControl. At the bottom of this page, you will link your administrations. Check the 'Access' box for each administration for which you want to apply RevControl, as well as the appropriate channel for availability and prices. Then click 'Install' to authorize the app and complete the installation.
Complete the settings
There are no further actions that you can perform yourself on the detail page of the RevControl app. You need to contact RevControl to discuss the details of how prices are sent to BEX PMS. You have different options, depending on your preferences.
Note that for RevControl to be able to fill your price lists, you do need to create those price lists in PMS first.
RevControl options for pricing
Pricing strategies can be configured, with controls in RevControl, in BEX, or a combination.
Minimum length of stay and active or inactive prices
RevControl can define a MinLOS for you, a minimum length of stay. This value can be a different number of nights depending on season or specific dates.
You can choose to send this MinLOS into BEX. You can also choose to send prices from RevControl into BEX as either active or inactive. This has the following effects:
ACTIVE prices + MinLOS = all night prices are immediately active and used, but prices for less than the MinLOS are deactivated.
ACTIVE prices + NO MinLOS = all night prices are immediately active and used, and MinLOS must be configured through arrival/departure schemes in BEX.
INACTIVE prices + MinLOS = The active/inactive status of night prices needs to be configured in BEX (current status is upheld by RevControl), but night prices for less than the MinLOS are cleared/emptied.
INACTIVE prices + NO MinLOS = The active/inactive status of night prices needs to be configured in BEX (current status is upheld by RevControl), including those of any MinLOS you still want to apply.
Price rules
In BEX PMS, a price rule may be used to enforce a MinLOS by only activating night prices for a stay of at least the threshold number of nights. These price rules can also be used to apply discounts.
Price rules
RevControl can set up price rules per price list for you as well, but these work differently. They are based on the different lengths of stay (LOS2 = two nights, LOS4 = four nights).
Examples of RevControl price rules:
Sell all LOS2 bookings for the same price as a LOS3.
All LOS2/3/4 bookings with arrival on a Monday, are to be priced the same as a LOS4.
All LOS5/6/7 bookings with arrival on a Monday, are to be priced the same as a LOS7 (incl. full weekend).
