Creating segments in Campaigns

A segment contains a set of contacts that share a certain characteristic, and consent type. Contacts in a segment can be added through an import, a form, or as a booker segment synchronized with BEX PMS.

The segment type is defined by the source of the contacts contained in it. Where and how you create new segments, depends on where you are sourcing the contacts.

  • Any individual contact can be part of multiple segments, regardless of segment type

Creating booker segments

Booker segments contain booker contacts that are synchronized from BEX PMS. They are used to predefine suitable guest audiences for communications.

  • The number of contacts in these segments is fluid; a booker contact is only present in a booker segment for as long as their details or reservation match the segment filters.

  • There are already a few default booker segments set up for you.

Creating import segments

Import segments contain contacts that were manually imported. You can upload a CSV file when creating an import segment. Use this strategy to add owners or other non-bookers to Campaigns, since owner contacts cannot be synchronized from BEX PMS.

Creating form segments

Form segments contain contacts that have submitted their contact information via a form on your website. Any form can be connected to a form segment via a form action.

Managing segments and consent

To be able to send a Campaigns message to a contact, this contact must have given consent. There are multiple types of consent; some of which are only relevant if you use certain BEX modules. Read more: Consent and segment management

  • For import segments as well as form segments, consent can be managed by editing the segment itself. The type of consent contacts in booker segments have given is synchronized from BEX PMS; this cannot be edited in Campaigns.
